Scales
Scales are a must learn on the Bouzouki. Scales are the basis and foundation of each and every song and taximi. There are different types of scales.

We have tried to include as many scales as we can think of, all are displayed in D, that means that the first note of the scales is a D and the eight note of the scales is D. You can also play songs in other keys such as E, which means that your first tone is E and your last is E aswell. Just follow the patterns on the scale and you will get the picture.

First of all choose the 3string or 4string section and thereafter select the scale which you want to learn.

When having the scale in front of you, there orange fields of the neck present the notes used in the scale, the small nubmers on some part of the neck displays which finger you should use when hitting that note. There are also some blue lines along the neck, those lines indicate where octaves begin and end. Note that all scales are show in the key D, and that the fingering is for the D Key.

You can also download the scale on video or mp3. Aswell as downloading a sheet with the scale in PDF format. You find that menu in each scalessections right corner.

We have provided the primary and secondary chords for each scale. But due to the fact that there are many ways of playing each chords, and that people prefer different chords, you might find the stated chords as wrong. The important thing is though that you play the rights chords and not which version of a chord.
